ABOUT BLVCK CHILD
BLVCK CHILD is a Cameroonian-Norwegian artist whose story is deeply tied to both displacement and belonging.
Growing up in Cameroon, in cities like Dschang and Bamenda, music was never just entertainment for him, it was a lifeline. A stage where he could be fully himself. When he later moved to Norway, that same passion followed him, but so did the challenges of navigating a society where his presence often set him apart.
As a child with a minority background, he learned early on that integration is not only about language or culture, but about how society chooses to see you. No matter how hard he tried to blend in, he was constantly reminded of his differences through looks, words, and unspoken barriers. These reminders shaped him, pushing him to use music not only as a form of expression, but as a way to confront, heal, and rise above the quiet exclusions he faced.
The name BLVCK CHILD carries the weight of this journey. It reflects the reality that, despite calling Norway home, he is still often seen as the outsider, the “black child” in unfamiliar territory. This feeling, rooted in his earliest experiences, continues to echo within him today.
Through his art, BLVCK CHILD transforms that haunting reminder into strength, turning the narrative of being different into a voice that resonates with resilience, identity, and truth.
